EJCC constituent employee associations to hold protests, sit in for abolition of SRO 202, regularisation of all daily wagers, daily rated worker, others on June 16

Srinagar/June,11 : The Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) at it core group meeting held under the chairmanship of it’s President Eijaz Ahmad Khan on Thursday announced that the constituent employee associations of the EJCC shall hold a protest and sit in on June 16 in the premises of their respective department to press hard over their demands for the abolition of controversial and discriminatory SRO 202 and  regularisation of daily wagers, daily rated workers and HDF workers and also the adjustment  of fair price shop dealers as regular employees in the food, civil supplies and consumer affairs (FCS&CA) department . The EJCC also appealed employees to join the protest and sit in while maintaining social distancing marks to show their solidarity with the daily wagers, daily rated workers, HDF workers and the F P shop dealers.
              A statement issued here on Thursday after the Core Group meeting by Employee Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) announced that all the Associations of Employees who are affiliated with Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) shall observe a silent and peaceful protest in the premises of their offices of their respective Departments on 16th June 2020 for about thirty minutes as a mark of protest in connection with regularization of about sixty thousand Daily wagers, Casual and Seasonal Workers, need based workers ,fair price shop dealers of FCS& CA Deptt,and labourers of FCS& CA Deptt. The statement further said that “the associations of employees who are affiliated with EJCC shall also mark the silent and peaceful protest for revoking and abolition of SRO-202, which is an injustice and inhuman SRO in vogue and hence needs to be revoked at any cost in the larger interest of our youth”.
The statement  also said  that “the associations of Employees shall observe the silent and peaceful protest with strict adherence to social distancing norms already imlemented in view of the current Corona virus threat posed to the whole world in general and Jammu & Kashmir in particular”.
The Core Group Meeting of EJCC  held under the chairmanship of Aijaz Ahmad Khan was among other attended by Sheikh Aijaz Ahmad, Sheikh Aijaz Makhdoomi, Khawaja Sajad Ahmad, Khalid Mehmood Khan, Inshtiyaq Beigh, Malik Hassan, Faroq Ahmad Kawa, Mukhtar Ahmad , Javid Ahmad Akhoon, Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Showkat Ahmad Nowsheri, Feroz Ahmad Najar and Manzoor Ishbari.
