Srinagar: Director Jammu and Kashmir Innovative Foundation for Transforming Society(JKIFTS ), Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo Monday said that exponential rising of Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir is very concerning and Govt. needs to re-visit into the decisions taken with regard to lifting of lockdown restrictions.
Talking to Kashmir Horizon Dr Tasaduk Hussain said ” It is very concerning to witness the number of cases of Covid-19 are exponentially rising in Jammu and Kashmir in general and Kashmir in particular.The community spread of the virus is likely to take its lead unfortunately”
He said that the situation is becoming alarming in Kashmir with increasing number of cases on daily basis and it might turn worse if Govt. would not re-look into the decisions taken with regard to allowing free movements of people and lifting lockdown restrictions.
Keeping in consideration the existing healthcare system in J & K being underdeveloped, he said that it would definitely put more burden on healthcare system and make it incapable to manage the crisis if lockdown measures are lifted completely and activities and free movements of people are allowed.
“Govt. should properly assess the current situation and take decisions accordingly”, he said
He said that public should behave as responsible citizens and follow the medical guidelines strictly being more cautious and serious- to break this chain of community spread of n-Cov 19 virus.
