Srinagar/June ,8 ): A Covid infected elderly man from Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district died on Monday at CD hospital Srinagar and with this the death toll due to Covid-19 pandemic has mounted to 44 in the Jammu and Kashmir.
This is the third Covid death since monday morning in Kashmir as earlier in the day, a CRPF posted in South Kashmir who was admitted in SKIMS, Soura breathed his last after testing positive for the pandemic. A few hours later, a 35-year-old man from Khanyar area of Srinagar, who had met an accident and had contracted the deadly virus, succumbed at CD hospital, Srinagar.
Dr Saleem Tak, Medical Superintendent at CD hospital confirmed that a Covid-19 positive patient who was undergoing treatment at CD hospital has died at the hospital on Monday afternoon. “He was 65-year-old and hailed from Hadnwara area of Kupwara,” he said. “The patient was very sick and had many underlying issues.”
The death toll due to Covid-19 positive patients in Jammu and Kashmir has mounted to 44 which includes 39 from Kashmir division( including a non-local tailor and a CRPF man) and five from Jammu division
