3 militants killed in a gunfight in Zainpora Shopian, Operation underway

Shopian/June,7: Three militants were on Sunday killed in a gunfight in Reban village of Zainpora area in South Kashmir’s Shopian district .
Reports said that gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces immediately after a cordon and search operation launch on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. A police official said three militants were killed in an exchange of fire but their identification is yet to be ascertained as the operation is still continuing in the area.

The official said that a joint team of Police, Army’s Ist RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter. As a precautionary measure internet services have been snapped in Shopian and Kulgam districts of southern Kashmir
