Jammu/June,4 :A maaaive operation has been launched in Mendhar area of Poonch district following inputs about the infiltration of a group of heavily-armed group of militants from across the Line of Control (LoC). “A search operation is going on in some areas of Mendhar,” SSP, Poonch Ramesh Kumar Angral said, adding “the combing exercise was launched following inputs about an infiltration attempt. He, however, said that further details would be shared later”.
The army and the police have reportedly launched a joint cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in eight villages of Mendhar area of Poonch. Earlier, on Monday, an infiltration attempt was foiled by the Army on LoC in Mendhar area.
