One-Stop Centre for Women Rajouri organises awareness camp

Rajouri: To create awareness about the right of women and role of one-stop centre for women in curbing the domestic violence against women, Sakhi-One Stop Centre Rajouri Monday organised an awareness camp at village Kotara Zageer in Nowshera.
The awareness programme was organised on the directions and supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and Nodal Officer OSC, Bilal Mir.
Speaking during the programme Nitu Sharma, Administrator OSC said the purpose of these centres is to provide integrated services for women and children affected with domestic violence, sexual harassment, emotional and psychological abuse. She further informed that the centre assists the aggrieved women and children by providing police assistance, medical aid, psycho-social counselling, legal aid and temporary stay for 5 days etc under one roof.
She added that the OSC is also integrated with women helpline number 181. The One-stop centre at Rajouri has one room for providing accommodation to the distressed women and children.
She said women in distress can report the domestic violence case to the nearby Anganwadi workers/helpers or can register their complaint on 181, as they are unable to reach the office due to lockdown.
She added that One Stop Centre provides full support to children and women who are the victims of any kind of violence which comes under the jurisdiction of OSCs. She also informed that emergency response, rescue response, Medicare facilities, legal aid, psycho-social counselling, assistance to women in lodging FIR and shelter are a few among other services being provided to distressed women at OSC.
