Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has appealed higher authorities of education department that if they are desirous for rationalisation of teachers at elementary level, which is a good proposal , however the rationalisation is required to be made that way, so that every school would get sufficient number of teachers with the ratio of one teacher for one class.
Chairman JKTJAC Gazi Abdul Aziz said while issuing a statement that there are some schools having teachers more than the number of classes, where as some schools have only two teachers for six classes ” each class having five subjects on an average”, including KG, which is sheer injustice with the students. He said, “instead of ensuring teacher-student ratio better is to ensure one is to one teacher-class ratio, which would prove a pro-student rationalisation of teachers.
He further demanded transfer of teachers to the places which would be probably reachable to them, so that teachers may be in a position to ensure their in time arrival to their places of postings. He said, “rationalisation of teachers is the need of hour, however if it is made pro-student , it would prove purposeful.
