Ang: Continuing with tough measures to contain spread of COVID-19 infection and plug all probable loopholes, District Magistrate K.K Sidha Saturday convened a meeting with bankers.
The meeting was attended by Addl. District Magistrate Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Zonal Head J&K Bank M.A Wanchoo, LDM Anantnag Afaq Peerzada, Cluster Head J&K Bank, District Managers of SBI, EDB, PNB and HDFC.
Addressing the meeting, the DM called for activation of Community Service Centers (CSCs) in strict observance of protocol in red zones. He said banking correspondents (BCs) clad in personnel protection equipment (PPEs) need to be sent in red zones for dispensation of cash wherever CSCs don’t exist.
The District Magistrate asked the bankers to double the number of banking correspondents for their deployment in red zones. He said availability of cash in red zones will be instrumental in curbing inward and outward movement in red zones.
The DM asked the bankers to observe standard operating procedure while operating bank branches, adding that complete social distancing and sanitization of premises must be meticulously followed.
Sidha called for keeping sanitizers available at all ATMs so that these don’t become source for spread of COVID-19 disease. He assured full co-operation of district administration in effective operation of banks in accordance with COVID-19 protocol.
