08:35 pm (IST): The Shawwal moon was not sighted from anywhere in the Bangladesh on Saturday evening, the National Moon Sighting Committee announced at a press briefing at the Islamic Foundation office in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka. Bangladesh will celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr this year on Monday, May 25, amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has killed more than 450 people across the country since March. 08:10 pm (IST): The Shawwal crescent has not been sighted, confirmed Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi. Eid Al-Fitr would be celebrated on May 25 under strict social-distancing measures, he announced.
