08:35 pm (IST): The Shawwal moon was not sighted from anywhere in the Bangladesh on Saturday evening, the National Moon Sighting Committee announced at a press briefing at the Islamic Foundation office in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka. Bangladesh will celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr this year on Monday, May 25, amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has killed more than 450 people across the country since March. 08:20 pm (IST): The subcontinental nations of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will announce shortly on the sighting of Shawwal crescent. The announcement is expected following the maghrib namaz or the evening prayers.

08:10 pm (IST): The Shawwal crescent has not been sighted, confirmed Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi. Eid Al-Fitr would be celebrated on May 25 under strict social-distancing measures, he announced.
