11:00 pm (IST): Moon was sighted in Srinagar and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Talking to Kashmir Horizon Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam said “the moon has been sighted in Srinagar and Ed-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, May 24, 2020 across Jammu and Kashmir. I convey my heartfelt greetings to the Muslim ummah in general and Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir in particular.”

10:40 pm (IST): Eid-ul-Fitr 2020 will be celebrated in Pakistan on Sunday, May 24 after Shawwal moon has been sighted in the Pakistan. Ruet e hilal committee of Pakistan has announced that Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan will be celebrated on Sunday May 24.

10:00 pm (IST): The decision to be taken by Oman and Pakistan is awaited. Muslims of the United Kingdom are also eagerly awaiting the decision to be taken by the Islamic Council of Morocco. Stay tuned here for the updates.

09:05 pm (IST): Minister for Religious Affairs Sahibzada Noor-ul-Haq Qadri on Saturday said that the Centeral Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will decide the matter of Eid ul Fitr moon sighting in its meeting in Karachi on May 23 (today),  Pakistan media reports said.

09:00 pm (IST): No reports received so far of Shawwal moon sighting in Sri Lanka. Eid ul Fitr in the island nation is expected to be celebrated on Monday. An official announcement from the Grand Mosque of Colombo is awaited. (latestly)

08:35 pm (IST): The Shawwal moon was not sighted from anywhere in the Bangladesh on Saturday evening, the National Moon Sighting Committee announced at a press briefing at the Islamic Foundation office in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka. Bangladesh will celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr this year on Monday, May 25, amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has killed more than 450 people across the country since March. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the nation on Sunday evening on the occasion of eve of the Eid. (DhakaTribune)

08:20 pm (IST): The subcontinental nations of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will announce shortly on the sighting of Shawwal crescent. The announcement is expected following the maghrib namaz or the evening prayers.

08:15 pm (IST): The Shawwal crescent has not been sighted in India, confirmed a statement issued by the Markazi Chand Committee. Eid al-Fitr in the nation will be observed on May 25.

08:10 pm (IST): The Shawwal crescent has not been sighted, confirmed Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi. Eid Al-Fitr would be celebrated on May 25 under strict social-distancing measures, he announced.

07:20 pm (IST): The moon sighting committees in the India and Bangladesh countries will hold special meeting today after Salate Maghrib and ascertain, if any, reports of moon sighting.

06:45 pm (IST): Pakistan’s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee session underway for Shawwal moon sighting

06:20 pm (IST): The Shawwal crescent has so far not been sighted in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Dhaka and Grand Mosque in Colombo are expected to issue an announcement shortly.

06:05 pm (IST):The Shawwal crescent was not sighted in any part of Australia on Saturday. The 30th Ramadan fast would be observed tomorrow and Eid al-Fitr would be celebrated on Monday, May 25.
