DC B’la chairs meet for restoration of developmental works amid COVID-19

Baramulla: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo Tuesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss various measures for restoring work on the developmental projects that remained stalled due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
On the occasion, a detailed discussion on the subject was held wherein it was decided that the construction work on the labour intensive projects shall be restored immediately keeping in consideration all the requisite advisories especially maintaining social distancing and using safety gears to contain the spread of virus.
The DC directed that no work shall be restored on those projects located in red zones and emphasized upon the concerned agencies to ensure that not a single labour or other human resource from such zones are engaged in these projects.
He further directed to work with added zeal and enthusiasm so that any kind of loss/liability is compensated within stipulated timeframe.
Dr Itoo said work on all the developmental projects shall be restored in subsequent phases adding that a viable mechanism shall be formulated in this regard and added that the move will help to overcome the rural economic distress as the works under MGNREGA has potential to create rural employment avenues.
Earlier, the DC in presence of CMO Baramulla inaugurated a health and wellness centre at Nowshera Boniyar under the centrally sponsored Ayushman Bharat programme.
He also inspected the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Warikha, Boniyar and took the appraisal of various medical and infrastructural facilities and stressed the concerned to provide adequate and qualitative medicare facilities to the people.
Meanwhile a delegation of PRI representatives met the DC who appraised him about various issues and grievances of vital public importance, the DC however assured them that all public issues shall be sorted out in a time bound manner.
