Ang: At least 24 shops were sealed in Kokernag Anantnag for functioning on Saturday, despite a prohibitory order by the authorities.
24 shops were sealed in Kokernag, here on Saturday, for violating restriction orders in place, in the district, as SDM Kokernag Syed Owais Mushtaq along with SDPO Arif Hussain Malik during checking sealed at least 24 shops in several villages including Sagam , Hangalgund, Bidder and other adjoining areas.
He said in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, strict restrictions have been imposed in area and people are allowed only to proceed to hospitals in the wake of any emergency .
Owais Mushtaq said the people have cooperated with the administration in making the lockdown successful for the larger public good and hoped that people will continue to support to administration to break the chain of Corona virus by staying indoors for some more days.
Appealing the public to stay indoors for their own safety, SDM Kokernag said that the chain of this pandemic can be broken only by staying indoors.
He appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict adherence to the order. He said violation of the order is tantamount to criminal offence and shall attract strict action under Section 188 of IPC.
