Jammu: As per standard operating procedure for regulating activities in construction sector from April 20, 2020 issued by the Government of UT of Jammu and Kashmir on April 16, 2020, PMGSY Jammu immediately initiated the process of resuming the construction activities which had come to a grinding halt due to imposition of nationwide lockdown in the month of March, 2020.
Accordingly, concerned District Magistrates were requested for issuance of movement passes for Engineering Staff, contractors and permission for movement of machinery and mechanical transport for carrying minor minerals. After the approval given by respective District Administrations, works were resumed ensuring maintenance of social distancing and adherence to guidelines regarding protective measures.
As on date, 169 works have been resumed and total labourers engaged on these works is 2094 including 358 migrant labourers. The works which have been resumed including 7 in Jammu District, 3 in Samba district, 25 in Kathua District, 12 in Poonch District, 23 in Rajouri District, 35 in Udhampur District, 20 in Reasi District, 31 in Doda District, 03 in Ramban District and 10 in Kishtwar District. Out of these, 01 work namely T02 Km 4th to Dharamsal in District Rajouri stands completed.
