Srinagar: The parents who have enrolled their wards in private schools across the Union Territory especially in Kashmir have expressed resentment against what they termed as the harassment by the educational institutions who have asked them to deposit tuition fee of their wards, said a report splashed by a local news gathering agency.
A legion of parents said that they have received messages from the private schools where they have been asked to deposit fee of their wards. “It is unfortunate that the schools are asking to pay fee at a time when we have not earned even a single penny from last three months,” the parents said.
They said the people especially transporters have suffered a huge losses since August last year and instead of showing sympathy with them, the private schools are harassing them by forcing to deposit the fee at this juncture.
“We don’t want them (School Administration) to waive off our fee. But, at least they should wait and ask to deposit fee at apt time when we at least come out from our houses and earn anything,” the parents said.
They also termed the government directions regarding the fee as unfortunate, saying that instead of directing the school administration to deposit fee after lockdown, the concerned department has allowed the education institutions to harass them (parents) further.
“We hardly manage to have something to eat at this time. How is it possible to pay fee at this juncture,” they said, appealing the Lieutenant Government, Jammu and Kashmir to look into and matter and ensure the harassment by the private institutions is stopped forthwith till they resume their work
