Navin chairs review meeting of SLPSC on RKVY-RAFTAR

Jammu: Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department Navin Kumar Choudhary Wednesday chaired a State Level Project Screening Committee (SLPSC) meeting on Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY-RAFTAR), here at Krishi Bhawan. Navin Kumar Choudhary is also Chairman of the State Level Project Screening Committee (SLPSC).
The Principal Secretary reviewed the physical and financial achievements for the year 2019-20 under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). He also deliberated on various components of the Action Plan of the scheme for 2020-21.
Annual Action Plan was approved by the chair with the instructions to review some components of the scheme for further submission to SLSC.
The Principal Secretary emphasized to raise the income of the farmers by mobilizing them into Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs) and promotion of local specialty crops, value addition, organic farming, farm mechanization and promoting agri-business entrepreneurship.
Navin Choudhary called for converging the efforts of Agriculture, Horticulture and other allied sectors for implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) to ensure timely utilization of funds under various components and to create a visible impact on the ground.
The Principal Secretary instructed the participants to ensure Aadhar seeding and 100% assistance transfer through DBT for all beneficiary oriented schemes. Further, he impressed upon the concerned HODs to promote projects involving Aloevera cultivation, establishment of Aloevera processing units/ honey extraction units/ mushroom canning units and creating marketing support in poultry, fisheries and animal husbandry sector. He directed the Animal/Sheep Husbandry departments in particular to arrange PPE Kits for the staff involved in surgery of animals in wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, the Director Agriculture Kashmir, A. A. Andrabi, who is also Mission Director RKVY, gave a presentation regarding objectives, vision and physical/financial achievements of various schemes during 2019-20 and plans proposed for 2020-21.
The Director Agriculture, Jammu, Inder Jeet appraised the chair about the physical and financial achievements made during the year 2019-20.
Others present in the meeting were Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Prof. R. K. Gupta; Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J&K Dr Mohit Gera; Director CAD, Jammu Smita Sethi; M. D. Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd. Bhawani Rakwal; Director Animal Husbandry, Jammu Vivek Sharma; Director Horticulture, Jammu, Ram Savak; Director Horticulture (P & M) J&K, Imam Din; Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu Dr Sanjeev Kumar; Director Floriculture Jammu, Kishore Singh Chib; Director Floriculture Manzoor Ahmed Quadri; Director Planning & Monitoring SKUAST-J Dr Deepak Kher; Director Planning APD H. S. Arora, beside others.
Officers from Kashmir Division including VC SKUAST-K, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director CAD Kashmir, Director Horticulture, Kashmir Director Research SKUAST-K, Director Animal Husbandry, Kashmir and Director Sheep Husbandry Kashmir participated in the meeting through video-conferencing.
