DC Bandipora reviews facilities at quarantine centres

Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Wednesday visisted several quarantine centres established in the district and took stock of the facilities being provided to the people under quarantine.
DC Bandipora was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tajamul Hussain and other senior officers of the district.
He inspected the facilities made available at the quarantine centres and also interacted with the people shifted there. He assured them every possible facility at the centres to make their quarantine period hassle free.
The Deputy Commissioner visited designated quarantine centres at established at DRM Public School Madder, SHM Collegee of Education Madder, IDPS Kaloosa, Mehboob-ul-Aalam College of Education and took stock of the arrangements in place.
Mirza said 37 quarantine facilities have been made available in the district with a bed capacity of about 1500 beds. He said the students who have returned from abroad and other states have also been put in separate quarantine centres.
DC said there are 132 persons under administrative quarantine at present in the district. He said so far 1704 persons have completed their recommended quarantine period and have returned to their homes and 11813 persons also completed their home quarantine while 1519 persons are still under home quarantine.
Thanked the people and medical staff for working tirelessly during this war against COVID-19. He said out of the 134 positive cases recorded in the district, 107 persons recovered so far and hence having only 26 are active cases in the district. He appealed the public to continue to take precautions to avoid spread of the virus and cautioned that a single mistake can again land us in trouble.
While interacting with the officials, he asked them to strictly follow the SoP with regard to the facilities prescribed by the WHO and Union Ministry, including daily clinical examination, establishment of infection prevention control measures, lodging, catering laundry, bio-medical waste management and other logistics.
