Evacuation of stranded people a humanitarian issue, resolve it without politicisation,reach out to them, release all political prisoner before Eid : Hakeem

Srinagar: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister Hakeeem Yaseen on Tuesday sought the resolution of the intensifying woes of migrant labourers and stranded people needs compassionate grounds, without painting any political colour to it.
In a statement issued on Tuesday , Hakeeem aid that the people especially the migrant labourers and students stuck in various parts of the country and abroad have been caught in a terrible situation of uncertainty and despire , being far off from thier near and dear ones , in a strange atmosphere with empty pockets . ” One should imagine the severty of mental agony , the stranded people have been subjected to due to unprecedented lockdown ,” Hakeeem Yaseen has stated while urging the state and central goverments to take effective measures to mitigate sufferings of stranded people , without trying to score political points out of out of this human problem . He said governments at the centre and state levels should immediately press into service all the available means of transportation to ferry stranded people back to thier homes and hearths without any further delay. He said railways , buses and air traffic should be pressed into service for evacuating the stranded people , after devicing a workable mechanism for ensuring necessary lockdown protocols during the process of evacuation. ” If aeroplanes can be arranged for bringing people from abroad , why domestic flights could not be operated for facilitating the stranded persons within the country to reach their homes ,” Hakeeem Yaseen questioned ?
Hakeem Yaseen has said that government announcements about reaching out to the stranded people are not visible on ground and most of the nodal officer have failed to establish contact with the Stranded people in their jurisdiction. He has called for a thorough investigation into large scale allegations that the helpline numbers established by the government for facilitating the stranded persons were not functioning properly , thereby causing great convenience to affected people . “This is a serious error which needs to be rectified urgently ,” Hakeeem Yaseen has demanded.
PDF Chairman has also urged the government to equip the sub district hospitals ( SDHs) and primary health centers (PHCs) of the state especially in rural areas with adequate men and machinery so that normal process of treatment to routine patients other than Covid-19 effected persons , could be restored , effectively . “After the outbreak of Covid-19 , treatment facility for common patients in health institutions have come to a grinding halt , which was a matter of great concern , ” Hakeeem Yaseen has said while urging the government to make health institutions fully functional by equipping these with adequate medicos and diagnostic tools . He said while the administration togetherwith health and medical authorities was fully engrossed in containing Coronavirus , various incidents have occurred where common patients have lost their lives allegedly due to inadequate medical attention in the hospitals ,” Hakeeem Yaseen observed while urging the government to make hospitals fully functional for routine work. He said, as per the WHO apprehensions , the battle against Coronavirus may take a long time , so there was an urgent need to put the medicare system back on rails .
PDF Chairman has also urged the government to release all the political prisoners of the state before IED-ul-Fitre adding that continued detention and house arrest of political leaders would serve no purpose.
