I&C Committee clears CA Store projects worth Rs 127.62 Cr

Srinagar : In order to give fillip to the post harvesting facilities of horticulture produce in Kashmir, the Divisional Level Single Window Clearance Committee (DLSWCC) Monday cleared three Controlled Atmosphere Cold Storage projects worth Rs 106.62 crore.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director Industries & Commerce, Kashmir, Mehmood A Shah whileas General Manager, DIC, Srinagar, General Manager, DIC, Pulwama, General Manager, DIC, Shopian, S.E. PDD and representatives of Pollution Control Board were also present in the meeting.
Besides, the meeting also cleared a project of Rs 21.00 crore of Hotel & Restaurant services of M/S Venoos Continental Sanat Nagar coming up in unorganized sector.
The projects which were cleared also include M/S Crop Care Integrated Cold Chain Pvt. Ltd at Industrial Estate Shopian spread over 20 kanals of land having total project cost of Rs 38.33 crore; M/S Hamdan Agro Industries Pvt. Ltd. on 10 kanals of land having total project cost of Rs 31.90 crore and M/S Ambour Cold Chain & Food Processing CA Cold Storage on 15 kanals of land at Aghlar, Shopian having total project cost of Rs. 36.39 crore.
These projects will provide employment opportunity to 162 skilled and unskilled youth of the area.
The meeting was informed that the establishment of these new CA units will open new era of opportunities to the apple growers of Kashmir. It was given out in the meeting that the facility of controlled atmosphere stores is being opted as a frontline choice in the Valley with many entrepreneurs coming forward for establishment of the same.
The meeting was also informed that more such proposals are in pipeline and storage capacities are expected to reach about 2 lakh metric tonnes.
