Srinagar: Asserting that the recent COVID-19 cases in the summer capital are the result of aggressive testing and timely detection, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Sunday urged people to cooperation with the authorities.
“God willingly we shall succeed,” Dr Choudhary said.
As many as 40 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Srinagar during the last eight days.
“InShaAllah we shall succeed. Request people’s cooperation. Recent cases are a result of aggressive testing & timely detection,” he wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
The DC Srinagar was responding a tweet by Chest Disease hospital, Head of the Department, Dr Naveed Shah, which read, “China did it, Kerala did it, we can do it too.”
Dr Shah also uploaded a posted, which read, “5th day without a COVID-19 case within a week in Kerala. Early aggressive testing, rigorous contact tracing, strict quarantine was the key.”
“Even Corona couldn’t beat them, hats-off to the government and its people,” it added.
