145 students stuck at AMU Aligarah running out of pockets seek immediate evacuation

Srinagar: One hundred and forty five (145) stuck at Aligarah Muslim University are running out of pockets and have sought their immediate evacuation by the concerned in the Jammu & Kashmir Government but Divisional Commissioner Kashmir in reply to their demand for evacuation advises them to wait till they get a formal permission from the Principal Secretary Home designated as Nodal Officer for evacuation of the people stranded in other parts of the country and move only on the dates which shall be given to them by Principal Secretary Home.
A Ph D Scholar Imtiyaz Ahmad stuck with 145 other Kashmir students at Aligarh Muslim University told Kashmir Horizon over phone “we are 145 students stuck at Aligarh Muslim University and are running out of pockets. We are in distress and seek the intervention of Jammu & Kashmir Government for our immediate evacuation as 90% of the students of other states have been already evacuated by their concerned state government”. Saying that they have already completed the basic formality of online registration with Jammu & Kashmir government as advised by the concerned authorities, the research scholar said that they are yet to get a final word for their evacuation from the concerned authorities of the Jammu & Kashmir Government.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole when contacted told Kashmir Horizon “wait till they get a formal permission from the Principal Secretary Home designated as Nodal Officer for evacuation of the people stranded in other parts of the country and move only on the dates which shall be given to them by Principal Secretary Home. The Divisional Commissioner warned that stranded people moving from their present places of location without the consent of Principal Secretary Home will be put up in quarantine centres for 21 days at Kathua .
