Stranded Kashmiris at the receiving end

Thousands of Kashmir including labourers , students are traders find themselves at the receiving end as evacuation plan rolled out by the government is turning out to be a time consuming exercise. As the stranded people are running out of money, the unprecedented delay caused in the evacuation process yet to be formally started by the government is pushing the stranded people in a state of depression and frustration. While the stranded people are living under constant fear and distress thousands of miles away from their homes, the delay in their evacuation is raising the levels of anxieties here in Kashmir. Anxiety caused by the increasing virus spread and the anxiety developing among the stranded passengers due to their separation with the families are the causes of huge concern for the affected families here in Kashmir .The simplification of the plans and procedures set for the evacuation is the only way to fast track the process of early return of people stuck in different parts of the country. The claims that state governments take care of the food and shelter of the stranded kashmiris in their states are contradicted by the reports appearing in newspapers about the intensifying troubles of food and shelter faced by the stranded people in different parts of the country. Always actions speak louder than words but unfortunately the words of J&K Government don’t match actions on ground. Had the J&K Government taken measures to mitigate the sufferings of the stranded people, the public outrage against the government apathy won’t have hit newspaper headlines. Ironically even the concerns of the sitting parliament members and several top mainstream leaders voiced by them in their daily press statements are not taken serious. Unfortunately the government is busy in giving the daily account of the rising no of coronavirus cases but does not pay heed to the reports about the rising troubles of the stranded people in different parts of the country. No supervision of the implementation of the evacuation plans and procedures from the top has result in the unprecedented increase in the no of complaints from the people stranded in different parts of the country.
The prompt response from the government to the increasing woes of the stranded people and simplification of the evacuation plans and procedures alone can end the unending troubles of the stranded people.  In the absence of a proper supervision from the top the nodal officers are not attending the calls of the stranded people and their families and as such the issue has to be addressed on priority for the purposes of the satisfaction of the stranded people and their families. The prompt response from the government to the increasing woes of the stranded people and simplification of the evacuation plans and procedures alone can end the unending troubles of the stranded people.
