Hakeem hails Ordinance for protection to healthcare workers, condemns attack on health warriors

Srinagar: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Yaseen on Thursday hailed ordinance promulgated by the Central government to protect healthcare professionals from attacks
In a statement issued here on Thursday Hakeem said that the Law to protect healthcare workers from attacks by the unruly mobs and attenders was need of the hour. ” Doctors and related health care workers are the saviours of the humanity who deserve to be regarded in high esteem ,” Hakeem Yaseen said while welcoming the Ordinance of the Union government to curb incidents of violence against health care professionals . As per the ordinance , attack on health care workers has been made non- bailable offence carrying an imprisonment from 6 months to 7 years to the offenders.
Hakeem Yaseen said that doctors and paramedics alongwith sanitation staff and police personnel are doing commendable job in the ongoing fight against the dreaded Coronavirus by putting their lives at risk . He said these frontline warriors deserve high appreciation and appluas from the society and government adding that all the front line workers fighting the killer Coronavirus should be given special incentives to keep their morale high. He has strongly condemned the reported incidents of manhandling of health care workers in some parts the country adding that offenders needed to be given.
