13-year-old boy drowns while taking bath in Chundina Ganderbal

Ganderbal: A13-year-old boy drowned into an irrigation canal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday afternoon.
Reports reaching HHV said that the deceased identified as 13-year-old Zahid Ahmad son of Mohammed Yousuf Bhat was bathing along with other kids which runs adjacent to his home at Khaarbon Mohallah area of Chundina Ganderbal.According to eyewitnesses, Bhat, a class 5th student couldn’t come out of the water which alarmed the fellow boys and other locals, whereupon he was rescued and removed to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kachan in an unconscious state. However, the boy was declared brought dead on arrival by the doctors.Soon after the incident, the locals rushed to the spot and retrieved the minor from the water body and police has also reached on the spot and appealed the general public to avoid gathering and maintain Social distancing.
