Srinagar:A delegation of Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineering Associations (J&K Civil Engineering Graduates Association & J&K Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association) Monday handed over a cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs to the Advisor to Lt. Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar as a contribution to J&K Relief Fund to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The delegation was led by Farooq Ahmed, President JK Civil Engineering Graduates Association and itincluded Firdous Ahmad Bhat, President, J&K Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association and Ashaq Ahmad Ashaq, Secretary, JK Civil Engineering Graduates Association.
The Advisor appreciated the effort of the engineers in maintaining and keeping essential services such as Water & power supply, Irrigation supplies and road connectivity functional during the tough times of COVID-19 besides working as Nodal officers in managing various Quarantine centers across the UT.
The delegation also handed over a memorandum of issues to the Advisor which included regularization, issuance of SO for already approved ACP (Assured Career Progression Scheme), vacant posts etc. in all engineering departments.
The Advisor assured them that all these issues will be looked into in due time.
The delegation also assured the Advisor of full support and cooperation from engineering fraternity to the administration during the testing times of pandemic COVID-19.
