Srinagar/April,19: Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) Aijaz Ahmad Khan on Sunday urged the Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Girish Chandler Murmu and Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam to take the consent of the employees of disbanded State Forest Corporation before deciding their fate.
Addressing an emergency meeting of the Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) called to discuss the plight of the employees of the disbanded State Forest Corporation (SFC) Khan said “more than 2500 employees are under distress and state of uncertainty due to continuing lockdown and as any final decision on their fate should not be taken without the consent of stakeholders”. Khan discussed the issue with with the representative of the employees of the disbanded SFC and senior trade unionist suresh Sharma over phone and appealed Lt Governor Grish Chandra Murmu and Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam to consider J&K forest corporation employees forum as a stakeholder before taking final decision on forest corporation’s new structure. Saying that the provisions of act repealed had ingredients for better and accountable scavenging of the forests of dead, dry and fallen trees and providing of timber to general public on concession. Khan said that in view of grant in aid already sanctioned by the central government for SFC, it working pattern shouldn’t be lowered to a Ltd company as circulated by section of forceful forest lobby in Jammu and Kashmir . He urged the government to put in place such a working module which would ensure service security, financial arrears to employees vis-a-vis court orders obtained by employees and also orders of supreme court of the country . He urged the government to take a serious view of the demands of the adjustment of the employees of disbanded SFC with forest department.Be hoped that J&K Forest Corporation Employees will be heard before taking a final call on the future of 2500 employees of the forest corporation.
