Budgam: Two days after a cop was tested positive in Budgam district, his 50-year-old Uncle was on Saturday tested positive for Coronavirus in Rathsuna village of the district, taking the total toll of positive cases to 13 in Central Kashmir district.
Reports reaching to news agency KNO said that Uncle of a policeman has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Rathsuna area of Budgam district.
“The fresh cases had come in contact with the cop. We have started contact tracing and soon will be sent for tests,” Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam Dr. Nazir told—KNO.
“His tests were taken yesterday and was kept under quarantine already at Budgam,” he said, adding that the patient has now been shifted to Isolation ward at JVC Hospital Bemina,” Dr Nazir said.
“Soon after tested positive, we have started the contact tracing and at least a dozen of persons including some family members who have come in contact with him have been traced and put under administrative quarantine,” he added.
“A total of seven patients have recovered and were discharged from SKIMS Soura and CD Hospital Srinagar after repeatedly tested negative till yet. At present, there are only six active cases in the district,” Dr Nazir added–(KNO)
