Samoon announces path breaking promotions, transfer policy for school education deptt

Srinagar: Principal Secretary School Education Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on Friday announced a series of reforms and path breaking decision on transfers and promotion of teachers, lecturers, Principals, Zonal Education Officers and headmasters in the school education department. Significantly Samoon has announced inducted of Gazetted officers of the school education department into KAS after 14 years qualifying service. Thrilled by the reforms Samoon’s twitter account was flooded with felicitations and applauds from the teachers, officers and students of the school education department from both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
Samoon started this week’s Friday with a direction to directors of school education department of Kashmir and Jammu divisions to fill 70% of the vacant positions of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Headmaster with an additional directive to transfer all the clercks overstaying at their present position in different administrative offices of the school education. Samoon directed Additional Secretary, Deputy Secretaries of the administrative department and directors of Kashmir and Jammu division to take prompt action for speedy implementation of the decisions taken by him.
In the wee hours on Friday Samoon took to micro blogging social networking site twitter and wrote “almost 70 % ZeOs & HM posts of middle, high & higher sec schools are vacant leading to adhocism & chaos; dsek/ dsej to post them & transfer all clerical staff beyond mature stay immediately to reduce corruption, ensure transparency & optimum functioning of school Edn sector”.
In yet another tweet Samoon said “ of SeD teachers; running grades to +2 teachers; rationalise posts as per student strength; Non vacations status to principals; more lecturers in languages, IT/Computer Sciences; auto transfer in 2 yrs; Induction into KAS after 14 years——AS/DSs/ dsek/J for prompt action”
In the afternoon on Friday Samoon once more wrote on twitter “to ensure proper physical and mental development and to spare too early schooling stress, no child in nursery/ kindergarten below 5 years age be admitted to class Ist (not even by manipulating DoB by few parents)”.
In yet another tweet Samoon said “a considerable number of 10+2 / higher secondary schools without principals; director schools Jmu and Kashmir may deploy them based on seniority, willingness and feasibility immediately”.
