DC Jammu interacts with Pharama, Warehouse associations

Jammu: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sushma Chauhan Thursday held a meeting with J&K Chemists and Druggist Association at Raghunath Bazar, Jammu.
She was accompanied by State Drugs Controller, Lotika Khajuria and other officials of Drug and Food Control.
Deputy Commissioner enquired about the availability of the medicines, life saving drugs and oxygen cylinders. President and the members of the Pharma Association informed that there is sufficient availability of medicines/life saving drugs and also movement and provisioning of drugs has been ensured not only in District Jammu but in entire Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Upon reviewing the functioning of the mechanism setup for home delivery of medicines and other life saving drugs to cater to the needs of specially abled/elderly persons, the State Drugs Controller informed that, the helpline established is functioning well and is helpful in addressing the needs of the callers.
Deputy Commissioner emphasized on the need for distribution of masks and sanitizers among the private workers beside the officials. The Pharma Association appreciated the timely support by the District administration by allowing the permission to undertake manufacturing of hand sanitizers and Hydroxichloroquinine and also facilitating the movement of medical supplies in and outside the Union Territory.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Warehouse Complex, Jammu and interacted with the Presidents of Traders Federation Warehouse (Nehru Market), Retailer Association and other members. During the meeting the decision to install 04 numbers of Sanitization and disinfecting tunnels at Warehouse Jammu was also taken. The directions for distribution of 2000 masks among the labourers working in the Warehouse were also issued. Deputy Commissioner was informed about availability of the sufficient quantity of Grocery/Ration items and hindrance free movement of these items between the wholesalers, stockists and retailers across the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (L&O), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, Assistant Director (FCS&CA) Rural-1, Dr. Shavi and Tehsildar Bahu, Dr. Rohit Sharma were also present on the occasion.
