Dy Mayor visits Dastgeer sahib, Naqshband sahib shrines to oversee sanitization works

Srinagar : To oversee the sanitization works being carried out by Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) in Khanyar and Rainawari areas, the Deputy Mayor, Parvaiz Ahmed Qadri along with the SMC’s special team of field functionaries in full protective gear and equipped with specialized machines visited Khanyar and Rainawari areas of the city Wednesday.
The team sanitized Dastgeer Sahib Shrine in Khanyar, Naqashband Sahib Shrine in Nowhatta, JawaharLal Nehru Memorial hospital in Rainawari, Gousia hospital in Khanyar and other public places in the surrounding areas.
On the occasion, sanitization chemical mixture was sprayed in the premises of shrines and hospitals and its adjacent areas.
The sanitization works was supervised by the Deputy Mayor who was accompanied by concerned Corporators and Ward Officer.
On the occasion, the Deputy Mayor informed that extensive sanitization drive is being carried out in Srinagar to break the chain of transmission of COVID 19.
DDC Shopian interacts with Media persons, distributes safety items
Shopian : Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin, called a meeting of media persons working in the district, regarding novel corona virus, here Wednesday.
The DC said the media is a bridge between public and district administration and should work with dedication in these extraordinary times for the welfare of the people by playing proactive role in containing the Covid-19.
He also informed the media persons that various departments are sensitizing people about the precautionary measures to be taken to avert the spread of Covid-19 besides intensifying fumigation drives to sanitize public places, distributing soap dispensers, hand sanitizers, masks and reading material including brochures, leaflets, regarding do’s and don’t among the people.
While highlighting the role of the journalists, he said media’s cooperation and regular feedback will help the administration in improving the system for containment of the Covid-19. He appealed the people to follow the advisory issued by the department of Health and Medical Education, in this regard.
Later, the DC and CMO distributed face masks, sanitizers and surgical gloves among the media persons.
