Srinagar: Kashmir Inc on Sunday met Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Baseer A Khan and had a detailed discussion about Covid-19 operations in Jammu and Kashmir and the situation emerged afted lockdown.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a delegation led by KCCI President Sheikh Ashiq met Baseer Khan who is also In-charge of efforts taken to combat Covid-19. During the meeting the situation emerging in the wake of lockdown against coronavirus was deliberated at length.
According to KCCI President, the need for protective masks for every individual of Kashmir valley was badly felt and was acknowledged by Advisor Baseer khan too.
In the subsequent meeting of Saturday with the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole, KCCI pledged to donate one lakh masks for the economically backward people including hawkers selling essentials and to other lower community of the society.
The KCCI President said that dearth of masks in valley was highlighted by Adviser Baseer Khan and the donation of masks was a joint effort of various business bodies and that the endeavor was aimed at safety and sustainability during crises.
“There are people who need masks, but cannot afford. For that matter even a street hawker selling essentials needs one”, Ashiq said. (KNS)
