DC Pulwama distributes PPE Kits among municipal employees, appeals for complete lockdown

Pulwama: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer distributed PPE kits and masks among the officials and safai Karamcharies of Municipal Committee Pulwama, here Friday.
While appreciating the efforts of Municipal officials in keeping the district clean besides, sanitizing the public places, the DC said the courage and dedication exhibited by them since the breakdown of Pandemic is highly appreciable and need to be replicated by officials of other departments.
He said administration has put in place a robust mechanism to deal with situation and men and machinery has been geared up to combat COVID-19.
The DC said adequate PPE kits, masks, sanitizers have been made available to the all the line departments and officials.
“We have a capacity of 1500 beds at different locations for Isolation, Hospital and Institutional quarantine facilities “, he added.
He said the District Administration has dedicated District Hospital to Covid-19 and all routine OPDs have been closed in heath institutions and on line consultation facilities are being provided to the patients.
Regarding the stock position in the district DC said there is no dearth of essential commodities in the district and administration has started distribution of advance ration of two month to the people at their doorsteps to maintain social distance.
Whereas food kits are also provided to non local labours accommodated at various locations, who work in various organised and unorganized sectors in the district.
DC reiterated that there is no need to panic as all requisite steps are being taken to tackle any eventuality. He appealed public to observe complete lockdown and to cooperate with the administration.
