Div Com (K) visits Shopian, inspects quarantine, isolation wards

Shopian: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole Wednesday visited Shopian district and took stock of the arrangements put in place for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. He also inspected the control room set up in the office of Chief Medical Officer Shopian for facilitating the people of Shopian with better communication, with regard to COVID-19.
Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Health and other district officers.
Div.Com directed health functionaries of Shopian district to gear up their activities and work with zeal, zest and dedication so that the patients so far affected with virus are provided better health care facilities. He also inspected the isolation, quarantine places and other wards at District hospital Shopian and interacted with the patients and enquired about their wellbeing and stressed for maintaining social distancing for the safety of the people. He directed the health functionaries and district administration to provide better medical facilities to these patients. He also inspected the quarantine wards, where affected patients have been kept by District Administration.
Div.Com has urged the health functionaries to identify and isolate all such persons who have been in close contact with the confirmed case in the district, as contact tracing is an integral part of fighting the pandemic and is the most effective tool to contain the virus and save lives.
Meanwhile, extending a helping hand to tackle the deadly pandemic caused by Coronavirus, the President, Pesticides Association Shopian, Mir Shabir Ahmad donated Rs 2 Lakhs (2, 00,000) to Deputy Commissioner, Shopian in presence of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
