Put on hold domicile order till SC verdict on J&K status :Hakeem

Srinagar/April,1: Former Minister and Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen on Wednesday termed the latest Central government order on J &K domicile rights as another breach of trust with the people of the state adding that it was totally against their expectations and aspirations .” The order was even against the promises and assurances of the Prime minister and Home minister of the country made in the Parliament that domicile rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir on land and jobs would be protected adequately , ” Hakeem Yaseen maintained.
In a statement issued today Hakeem Yaseen while terming the domicile rights order for J&K , issued by the Centre , as against the aspirations of the people , has said that it was in all its forms unacceptable to the people of the state. He said the order was against the promises made by the Prime minister himself in the Parliament that domicile rights of the people of jammu & Kashmir would be protected at all costs .He said the government like previous regimes in the Centre has once again ditched the people of the state adding that the order was bound to jeopardize confidence building measures (CBMs )between center and the people of the state. He said since the matter about the special status of the state was presently subjudice , hence the order on domicile rights to j& k should be put on hold, till the Supreme court verdict comes to fore . . He said it was a matter of grave concern that the government jobs in Jammu and Kashmir have been opened for all adding that , before August 5, all jobs in erstwhile state of J&K were exclusively reserved for permanent residents of the State. He
said the notification on domicile rights has extended jobs and immovable rights almost to one and all from outside jk .
Hakeem Yaseen has observed that the central government should discuss all the matters threadbare with the stakeholders before going ahead on the sensitive socio-political
issues about Jammu and Kashmir including protection of domicile rights to the people of the state on land and jobs.
