COVID-19: 11 test positive, no of cases rises to 49

Srinagar: The COVID-19 positive cases continue to soar in J&K with eight more cases reported as positive in Kashmir and three cases in Jammu division on Monday taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 49. Of the total figure, two people died and two recovered.
J&K government spokesman Rohit Kansal Monday morning wrote on micro blogging social networking site twitter “No new cases in Kashmir division, in Jammu Division 3 new positive cases. Total for J&K now 41”
Later on Monday afternoon Kansal tweeted “Four more cases detected positive in Kashmir. 2 each from Shopian and Srinagar. All contacts of previous positive cases. Contact tracing working on ground”
On late Monday evening, Kansal tweeted, “Just Now: Another positive case reported by SKIMS Soura. Total 49.”
Pertinently with two deaths, both from Srinagar and two recoveries one each from Kashmir and Jammu, the total no of positive cases so far is 49 with active 45.”
Nodal Officer for coronavirus at SKIMS Dr G H Yatoo said 20 patients with mild symptoms of coronavirus were admitted at SKIMS today whose samples were taken and have been sent for testing and their reports are expected to come tomorrow. Among the reports received today, three were positive and rest negative, he said.
Doctors at SKIMS said that total number of 152 suspected Corona virus patients treated at SKIMS is 152 while as the total no of patients found positive and are under presently under treatment in isolation ward stands at 09. Number of suspected patients in quarantine ward after availability of their test report is negative stands at 91 while as total number of patients discharged till date stands at 33, they said.
Furthermore, they added that 03 patients whose samples were taken on Sunday were detected positive on Monday while as number of patients admitted today and whose reports are awaited stands at 19. Number of tests done in microbiology lab so far stands at 219, among them 11 are positive while as 208 are negative, they said
Medical superintendent JLNM hospital Dr Zakir said that reports of 15 samples were received today, among them two are positive while as 13 are negative. Reports of 46 samples taken at JLNM hospital in last two days are yet to come, he said. Medical superintendent District hospital Pulwama Dr Jameel Ahmad Mir said that 48 patients with mild symptoms of covid-19 are undergoing treatment bat District hospital Pulwama.
So far samples of 21 patients have been taken and among them, two are positive, two are negative while as result of rest samples is yet to come, he added.
Head of department Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar Dr Naveed Ahmad Shah said six patients with symptoms of coronavirus were received by chest disease hospital today whose samples were taken and have been sent for testing
He further added that only positive cases have been kept here while as suspected patients have been shifted to NIT Srinagar. As per the daily information bulletin 11644 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 355 persons are in hospital isolation and hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin on novel coronavirus, 722 samples have been taken so far, out of 722, 659 are negative while as 48 are positive and report of 15 samples are yet to come. Moreover so far two persons have recovered while as two have died
