COVID-19: Jammu Police’s ‘We Care’ campaign continues to break the chain, 32 with travel history identified

Jammu: The campaign of ‘We Care’ launched by Jammu Police is in full swing to break the chain’ of coronavirus pandemic.
The campaign was launched by SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil with an aim to spread awareness and sensitize people about COVID-19 pandemic as well as help needy and poor people.
Different teams of police led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma, SHO Nagrota Showkat, ICPP Sidhra Zaheer Mushtaq, SHO Jhajjar Kotli Rajesh Khajuria under supervision of Suram Singh, SP Rural, along with BDC Chairpersons of Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli started going door-to-door with appeal to people to come forward with their travel history, if any.
The teams also spread awareness about the ‘dos and don’ts’ regarding COVID-19 to members of family and importance of following instructions from authorities time to time.
The police teams distributed ration and other food items to the needy people on Saturday in Sidhra and Nagrota area also.
The police officials said this door-to-door campaign will prove effective in tracking foreign and other travel related returnees and all PRIs are being roped in so that myths are cleared as well as people could be aware and sensitise about COVID-19.
The BDC chairpersons and Sarpanch’s are also sensitised to come forward to help needy people of their area during lockdown and spread awareness through all PRI members.
As a result of these innovative efforts, police have been able to trace 32 persons with travel history so far and more than 400 labourers families have been identified to be provided with eatables and ration for which police is working and PRIs and other organisations help is being called.
Further the step is helping to ease pressure of fear among people about COVID-19 besides spreading awareness among all.
