Covid-19: 1200 quarantine bed capacity set up in Budgam

DM Budgam Chairs meeting with nodal officers, stresses on effective contact tracing, travel history to combat virus
Budgam: District Magistrate Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai Saturday said around 1200 quarantine bed capacity has been set up at various places in the district besides putting in place other arrangements.
The DM said this while chairing a meeting of designated nodal officers at district headquarter Saturday in order to have a firsthand status of arrangements put in place to combat the requirements and other urgencies occurring due to ongoing covid-19 crises. The meeting was convened while keeping social distancing protocol in view.
During the meeting, various decisions were taken and all the designated nodal officers were assigned various assignments. To help the nodal officers during the requisite period of duty, services of 12 probationary KAS officers ware also envisaged, who shall remain engaged to help the administration in various capacities.
Regarding the arrangements the DM said to facilitate prompt response to public queries, complaints and requirements, a 24x 7 control has been established at district headquarter which will be manned by 2 probationary female officers as additional staff besides 4 officers will monitor the quarantine facilities established in three sub-divisions and (one) at the district headquarter for timely response and hassle free functioning of these facilities. He urged concerned to maintain proper inventory of calls and action taken report.
The DM directed the concerned to dump ration for 40 days at all quarantine centers and stressed concerned to ensure that proper care is taken of the persons presently under quarantine at these facilities.
He stressed on the effective contact tracing to ensure prompt screening and quarantine of persons with travel history. He said though there has been no positive case in the district yet district administration has to remain vigilant.
The DM further called upon the concerned Nodal Officers to establish 2 lunger facilities at Chadoora and Beerwah for migrant workers and asked them to ensure that adequate supply of food grains are made available for this purpose.
He said proper accommodation will be provided to the officers designated for Covid-19 duty for their stay, in case they are unable to reach their home.
The DM directed the concerned officers to visit all quarantine facilities to ensure that all arrangements are in place there.
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officers including, Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh, Reyaz Ahmad Shah, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Parvez Ahmad, ACR, SDMs, CMO, Tehsildar Budgam, Probationary Officers and other concerned.
