Hakeem demands free ration to lockeddown populations, seeks appointment of Nodal Officers to evacuate students, labourers stuck outside Kashmir

Srinagar/March, 28: Hailing announcements of the central government and RBI to provide immediate relief to the people especially middle and lower class of the society , to off shoot adverse affects of the country wide lockdown, in the wake of Coronavirus endemic, Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has urged the need to provide free ration to the people of Kashmir valley especially to the labour class and families living below the poverty line . He said people of Kashmir valley , as a whole ,
are living under an acute economic strain since last two years.
” Decisions to extend Rs 50 lakh insurance cover to each healthcare worker battling the Coronavirus disease and moratorium on EMI of all bank loans for three months with decrease in the interest rate , are surely some timely relief measures in the present circumstances , Hakeem Yaseen said while demanding distribution of free ration , for three months , to the poor people of the state.
In a statement , Hakeem Yaseen said that the poor people and labour class has become first casualty of the grim situation arising out of the Coronavirus lockdown who need immediate assistance from the government to escape starvation .
Hakeem Yaseen has also urged the state government to appoint it’s Nodal officers in various states of the country to coordinate with the local authorities to provide much needed support to the students and labourers of Jammu and Kashmir who are stuck in various parts of the country and are making distress appeals for their evacuation. ” Till adequate measures are worked out for evacuation of the stranded students and labourers of the Jammu and Kashmir, there was urgent need to arrange boarding and lodging facilities for them at their present locations ,Hakeem Yaseen has urged .
PDF, Chairman has also urged the authorities to release grants , sanctioned by the Central government for providing relief to the lock down hit poor people , immediately adding that implementation of the decisions should be monitored closely at the district levels.
