Srinagar: Four more positive cases surface in Kashmir reported today. The total number of cases has now jumped to 13.
Head of Department, Chest Disease Hospital, Dr Naveed said that four more patients were tested positive for Coronavirus disease. Two of the infected patients hail from Bemina and two from Chattabal area of Srinagar city.
Dr Naveed said that two patients from Chattabal area have arrived from the same plane in which the Khanyar woman was on board. The Khanyar woman was the first case to be reported positive on March 18. These two patients from Chattabal area had landed in Srinagar on March 16 and both have travel history.
He said that two more persons who were tested positive hail from Bemina and both have probably got infected while participating in a religious event. They were both associated Tableegi Jammat and probably were in touch with the deceased Covid-19 patient from Hyderpora Srinagar.
These patients travelled many states of India.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir is 14 among which one died yesterday. Among these infected persons, eight are from Srinagar and five are from Bandipora. Among the positive cases reported so for include an 8 month toddler.
Government spokesperson, Rohit Kansal confirmed that four patients have been tested positive. He said that all the four cases have travel history.
Meanwhile, test reports of two suspected cases of Covid-19 which were under observation in quarantine ward at GMC Anantnag were screened and they were found to be negative.
