Jammu: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu and his advisor K K Sharma have in their separate statements conveyed his greetings to people of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Navratras and Navreh and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
In his message, the Lt Governor G C Murmu expressed hope and prayed that the festival would become the harbinger of harmony, brotherhood, amity, peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. He also extended warm greetings to the people belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community who celebrate this auspicious day as Navreh, which coincides with the first day of the Chaitra Navratras, the beginning of the Hindu New Year. The Lt Governor appealed to the people, including the devotees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji, to stay indoors and pray at home during these Navratras.
Praying for the well being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Advisor to Lt Governor K K Sharma hoped that the festivals would usher in peace, prosperity besides also giving the courage to stand united against various external and existentialistic threats.
The Advisor also extended greetings to Kashmiri Pandit community, who celebrate this auspicious day as Navreh, beginning of the Hindu New Year.
While appealing the devotees to stay indoors and pray at home, the Advisor hoped that by a united effort we can defeat the threat posed to our existence by the global pandemic.
