Bandipora admin conducts extensive fumigation drive to prevent COVID-19 spread

Bandipora: The district administration Bandipora has launched an extensive fumigation drive across the district with an aim to maintain cleanliness and contain the spread of COVID-1
The Municipal Committees of Bandipora, Hajin and Sumbal has deputed their teams in their respective areas for the purpose to disinfect various public places including hospitals, designated quarantine centres of the district, markets, government offices, religious places, Police stations and other public places.
During the drive, the awareness regarding preventive measures to be taken to tackle spread of COVID-19 was also generated among the people. The people were urged to contribute by way of cooperation and adhering to the advisories issued by Department of Health and Medical Education.
The people were informed that by enhancing hygiene, keeping surrounding disinfected, sanitized and maintaining social distancing, one can minimize the transmission of corona virus infection.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza said the fumigation and cleanliness drive is a continuous process and that the Municipal Committees have been directed to intensify the drive.

The joint teams of Legal Metrology, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Revenue and Health Officials also inspected various medical shops in the district and sealed a chemist shop for selling sub-standard sanitizers.
