Srinagar/March,23 : Appreciating the measures being taken by the Government to contain spread of deadly Novel Covid-19 pandemic , especially extension of clampdown till March 31st, Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has urged the people to strictly follow health guidelines to nip the evil in the bud. He has also called upon the philanthropists to come forward to assist the poor and needy in these testing times whose livelihood and economy was getting severely hit due to the unavoidable situation.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Hakeem said that though the government and the people of the state are responding to the crisis arising out of the outbreak of COVID-19 but more care and precautions are required to be taken to unitedly fight against the dragon pandemic which has endangered the human existence across the globe. He said while the administration alongwith the medical fraternity was doing commendable job but the government and philinthrophists should also initiate welfare measures for the poor and needy families whose livelihood is getting hit due to prolonged clampdowns with every passing day.
Hakeem Yaseen has also asked the Members of the Parliament from the state to put thier MPLADF at the disposal of the government for its indiscriminate and equitable distribution in each area of the state. “There should not be pick and choose yardstick to provide relief to the needy people affected by the outbreak of pandemic ,” Hakeem Yaseen observed. He said at this critical juncture , we should not think on individual party lines and release MP development funds only to thier particular constituencies . He said we shall have to fight the challenge unitedly as a collective humanitarian effort by rising above party considerations , Hakeem Yaseen said adding that ” United we stand , divided we fall” He has also appealed to the Masjid Committees and philanthropists to reactivate and provide relief and assistance to the needy families in their surroundings.
Hakeem Yaseen has directed his party workers to act as volunteers in their local areas to provide required help to the needy people and also assist the medical teams deployed on duty to fight dreaded Novel COVID-19 . He hoped that with the grace of Allah and collective efforts of all , we would be able to overcome this disease just like China , from where the Virus is stated to have originated.
