Srinagar: The letter of National Conference President, three time former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister and sitting Lok Sabha member from Srinagar parliamentary constituency Dr Farooq Abdullah to Prime Minister Modi over his demand for restoration of 4 G mobile internet services has been question by many tech savvy youth on the social networking site facebook , many mainstream political leaders, and people of other walks of life.
As the reports about Dr Farooq Abdullah writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demand for restoration of 4 G mobile internet services went viral on social networking site face book, the tech savy youth put critical post on their timelines saying that “ has the three time former chief minister and the senior most mainstream leaders of the biggest and old regional political party come down to the demand for 4 G from the restoration of article 370,article 35 A and return of the statehood”. One of the FB users wrote “Farooq Abdullah refusing to offer his party’s political response to scrapping of special status and downgrading a state to a union territory but writing a letter to Prime Minister on restoration of 4 G internet services gives an indication that National Conference too is endorsing those who call Article 370 a dead and demand statehood”. Another FB user said “Dr Abdullah writing a letter to Prime Minister shows that abrogation of article 370 and downgrading a state to a union territory is an ample proof that detention of mainstream leaders hours before the scrapping of special status on August 5 last year was a fix match between the incumbent central government and the Kashmir’s mainstream leaders”.
A senior mainstream leader keeping away from both the Farooq Abdullah led NC-Congress alliance and Altaf Bukhari led Apni party combination on conditions of anonymity told Kashmir Horizon “writing a letter to Prime Minister for restoration of 4 G internet services is unbecoming of a senior most leaders of the biggest and oldest regional political party who has headed three popular governments in the state and occupied position of union minister twice in recent years”.
Chairman Private Schools Association Jammu & Kashmir(PSAJK) Er G N Var told Kashmir Horizon over phone “the silence of Dr Abdullah over the abrogation of article 370 and downgrading of the erstwhile state to a union territory is a point of debate and discussion. A leader of Dr Abdullah’s stature could have reacted over the political future of Jammu & Kashmir on his and taken the consent of other leaders later after their release”. A lawyer keeping an eye over the implementation of the central law in Jammu & Kashmir on conditions of anonymity told Kashmir Horizon “ the mainstream leaders don’t speak over the implementation of central laws as they have to be part of the future political arrangement which the central governments want’s to put in place in Jammu & Kashmir”.
