Srinagar/March,21: City Municipal Commissioner Gazanfar Ali on Saturday review chemical spraying and sterilisation drives launched by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation across city. The city municipal commissioner was briefed about the special sterilization drives and WHO recommended chemical spraying launched after regular intervals at all the designated quarantine places in the city . The city municipal commissioner was told that Ward Officers are submitting timely report to the higher authorities and completely monitoring the sterilization drives that are being conducted at five new different spots per day with a target of covering all the places including hospitals, schools, offices, banks, ATMS, and other important destinations gradually in each ward.
SMC has deputed a special sterilisation squad along with machinery at Srinagar Airport and its adjoining areas who are conducting extensive sanitation combined with chemical spraying regularly from early morning till late hours. Five teams comprising of five members each, have been created and put on standby mode . They have been directed to remain present throughout the day in central office to meet any exigency.
