Dir Horticulture (K) conducts extensive tour of Budgam, Srinagar

Srinagar: Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, made an extensive tour of District Budgam and inspected various developmental activities and works besides reviewing the status of various schemes.
He stressed upon the officers to ensure 100% fund utilization so that fixed targets are achieved in full.
Later, Director visited district Srinagar and convened a meeting with Chief Horticulture Officer Srinagar and other field officers.
He instructed the CHO Srinagar to ensure proper utilization of funds under developmental schemes by end of current fiscal.
The Director also inspected Soil and Pesticide testing laboratory, Rajbagh Srinagar and instructed the concerned to ensure proper functioning of the laboratory as well as Mobile Soil Testing Laboratories stationed at South and North Kashmir.
On the occasion, fruit growers (orchardists) were informed that the Departmental Mobile Soil Testing Vans (MSTLs) will be available for soil testing of orchards as per following schedule.
At Kupwara, Mobile Soil Testing Vans will be available on Mondays and Tuesdays at Chief Horticulture Office, Kupwara, which can be contacted on landline number 01955262665, at Bandipora van will be available at CHO, Bandipora’s office on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the orchardists can contact the office on landline number 01957226384.
Similarly, at Baramulla, the Van will be available on Fridays and Saturdays at Chief Horticulture Office, Baramulla, which can be contacted on landline number 01954222292, at Anantnag, Kulgam van will be available at Wanpoh Anantnag, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the orchardists can contact the office on landline number 01932223041 or 01931215358.
At Shopian and Pulwama, the Van will be available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at CHO’s office Keegam, Shopian, which can be contacted on landline number 01933260280, 01933219251, at Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar the van will be available at CHO Srinagar’s office at Rajbagh, on all working days, the orchardists can contact the office on landline number 01942311456, 01951255278 or 01942109167.
The Director asked the Incharge Soil Testing Laboratory, Rajbagh Srinagar to follow the schedule personally in letter and spirit and furnish the status report of soil samples of all districts on daily basis.
While the orchardists were directed to contact Soil Analyst, Rajbagh Srinagar on Mobile No: 7006068798 regarding soil testing of their orchards on all working days.
The orchardist can also contact Deputy Director Horticulture, Directorate of Horticulture Rajbagh Srinagar on landline number 0194-2310356.
