COVID-19: DC Bandipora appeals Public to adopt preventive measures

Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Saturday appealed people of the district to adopt preventive measures to keep themselves and other safe from getting affected by the Coronavirus.
He said this during an awareness program for district officers regarding Corona virus. He stressed upon the officers to remain informed about the preventive measures and play a proactive role in the campaign by educating people in their respective areas about the virus.
DC Bandipora appealed the people to voluntarily come forward and inform the health authorities if they have symptoms like fever , cough, sneezing, shortness of breath or sore throat so that necessary precautions are taken accordingly to safeguard human life.
He advised people to avoid visiting hospitals unnecessarily and instead contact control room on 9419010752 and 01957225024 so that the health officials attend them at their doorstep. He said 71 surveillance teams and five Rapid Response Teams have been constituted in the district to attend the suspected patients.
The awareness program was attended by Superintendent of Police, Rahul Malik, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tajamul Hussain and other District officers.
On the occasion, CMO, Dr Tajamul Hussain and District Epidemiologist Dr Nabeel Ishtiyaq, deliberated upon the preventive measure that needs to be taken to avoid getting infected by the virus. A question and answer session was also organized at the end of the program wherein the participants posed several questions with regard to the disease.
Experts also urged the people to adopt all prescribed preventive measures and cooperate with the authorities to avert the deadly covid-19.
Earlier Indian System of Medicines launched an awareness campaign in the district regarding Coronavirus.
Nodal Officer, ISM, Bandipora, Dr Iftikhar Gazi, along with his team distributed posters among people at the hospital, Bandipora Market and Mini Secretariat and appealed people to adopt preventive measures to contain the virus.
