J&K Bank conducts Baramulla DLRC meet, holds fin lit camps in Pulwama

Srinagar: To review achievements made during 3rd quarter of current financial year, J&K Bank conducted the District Level Review Committee/District consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting of Baramulla that was chaired by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Dr G N Itoo and attended by Zonal Head Kashmir (North) Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, DDM NABARD, representatives of other banks operating in the district and District Level Officers of all the line departments.
The house was further informed that under annual District Credit Plan 2019-20, the district has recorded an achievement of Rs 1796.93 Crduring the quarter, which is 54.15 pc of Rs 3318.48 Cr – the targetset under ACP. Lead District Manager informed the house that 58715recipientsof the district were benefited under various schemes.The house appreciated the performance of J&K Bank for 100 pc coverage of PMKISAN beneficiaries under KCC scheme in the district.
Notably, the CD ratio of the district on December 31, 2019 was at 80.65pc while as the Priority Sector Advances outstanding wasRs 2761.99 Cr, which is 64.59 pc of total advances of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLRC advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with Cooperation, Coordination and Cohesion to achieve the goals and targets of development & progress besides generation of employment for unemployed youth of the district.
Meanwhile, with a view to ensure wider financial inclusion the bank continued its public outreach program and raising awareness about the salient features of Social Security Schemes (SSS)besides KCC, J&K Bank conducted two financial literacy camps at Prichhoo and Barpora village in Pulwama district, which were attended by large number of people belonging to different walks of life.
On the occasion, the participants were given an overview of the scheme of KCC that enables farmers to bargain well and make better choice. The audience was informed that the PM KISSAN beneficiaries are eligible for KCC scheme covering activities like agriculture, horticulture, dairy and fisheries.
The speakers on the occasion explained that the social security schemesPradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) are means to create a welfare society where a labour, an agriculturist, a businessperson or whosoever is engaged in some unorganized sector of economy, is able to secure his/her family against the pangs of old age and untimely demise. Use of Mobile Banking was encouraged by the speakers particularly in the present times.
The account opening forms were distributed among the participants to make sure that the accounts are opened on spot to deepen the financial inclusion and increase the social security network across the region.
