Srinagar: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed concerned officers to setup 24×7 screening camps at TRC, Nehru park, Mughal Gardens and other tourist places besides at Pantha Chowk, Parimpora taxi and bus terminals so that the information with regard to tourists and travellers is properly maintained and registered.

He said filling up of self-declaration forms at these camps by tourists and travellers is mandatory.

The screening camps will be equipped with doctors, technical staff with protection gear, testing equipments and other requisite materials.

The Divisional Commissioner issued these directions while chairing a meeting convened to review preventive measures for COVID-19 with stake holders of Tourism and Transport industries.

It was informed that more than 6000 people were screened at Gandola premises in Gulmarg in last four days.

The Div Com asked hoteliers and transporters to share real time information of such tourists or passengers who are found symptomatic to the control room numbers or nearby health institutions, which shall pick the patients for quarantine at isolation wards. Hoteliers were also directed to maintain records of domestic and foreign tourists.

The concerned officers were asked to collect the advisory pamphlets of Coronavirus disease, written in English and Urdu, from concerned district administrations and to distribute the same among the Hoteliers and Transporters Associations. The associations will in-turn distribute these pamphlets to the people at hotels, restaurants, tea stalls, bus stops, terminals, buses, cabs and tourist places for mass awareness.

Div Com said administration has put effective measures and robust mechanism in place on mission mode to ward off the Covid-19 threat.

He urged all stakeholders to voluntarily cooperate with the administration for the safety of the people.
