The ozone layer is a region in the Earth’s stratosphere that contains high concentration sticky gas called ozone. Although ozone constitutes only about one-millionth of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation would destroy all life on the surface of the planet. Ultraviolet radiation creates and handles ozone. When an ozone molecule is hit by Ultraviolet radiation, it falls apart yielding free oxygen and other oxygen atoms that combine with other free oxygen to form more ozone . Some manufactured chemicals interface with this cycle, thus reducing the amount of ozone in the stratosphere. Among the worst offended are chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’S), usually found in refrigerators aerosol sprays , Factory outlet chemical gases, the stubble burning in twin states of India Punjab and Haryana may also cause climate change and also affect to ozone layer. Falling ozone levels have caused a thinning of the ozone layer will cause hole to ozone layer. Ozone depletion can cause so many effects to human beings like as Skin cancer, Sunburn, Cataracts and it can also cause ecological problems.Ozone is the gas in the atmosphere that protects everything on the Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation (UVR) from the sun . The ozone layer acts as a filter to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) from the sun protecting life on earth from its potentially harmful effects.
The ozone depletion can be preserved by less use of refrigerators and industrial chemical gases. It can also be preserved by plantation of more and more trees, Use eco-friendly household cleaning products less use of electricity, it cleans up and maintenance of dirty plant. If these precautions should be followed by the people of our society and world level, then there will be no problems to face it in present or future generations. The latest evidence is that ozone depletion has slowed or stopped. The United Nations General assembly has designated September 16 as the international day for the preservation of the ozone layer.
