Doda: As a part of disseminating information to the PRI members about the deadly Corona virus, District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode Tuesday chaired separate sensitization programmes Tuesday at DC office.
On the occasion, detailed presentations on the subject were held wherein experts briefed the participants about preventive measures that need to be taken, to avert the infection.
The DDC informed that about 250 surveillance committees having representatives from several departments have been constituted at different levels across the district, besides surveillance nakkas(check posts) have also been established under the supervision of police along with health department at Jathi and Khaleni to track the travel history of every inward movement to the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC stressed upon the participants to play a proactive role in the campaign by educating people in their respective areas about the novel Corona virus, asking them to identify all such persons who have the travel history from the affected regions or to abroad and share the details with administration on the numbers of control room so that necessary action shall be initiated at earliest to avoid any hue and cry.
The DDC also informed the participants that a control room has been established under the supervision of ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma which will be functional 24×7 with toll-free number 18001807122, 9906320997. DDC asked that if someone has travel history to foreign country especially affected country or have some symptoms they should come forward and get them medically examined. He urged the people to adopt prescribed preventive measures and cooperate with the authorities in this regard, besides instructing them to endorse more cautiousness and appealed them not to be panic. He also ensured that district administration is well equipped to handle the virus.
