5 killed, a boulder hit house at Barmeen Udhampur

Udhampur: In the intervening night between march 9 and 10, 2020 one house was completely collapsed due to boulder hit at Upper Barmeen Tehsil Ramnagar in which five persons of a family have been killed. In wee hours after receiving a call the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla along with SSP Rajiv Omparkash Pandey and other officers of district administration and SDRF team rushed to the spot.
DDC along with SSP Udhampur monitored the whole rescue operation. DDC announced an ex gratia relief of Rs, 20 lakh in favour of next to kin of the deceased.
While interacting with media persons DC said a boulder hit the house of Raj Singh S/o Munshi Ram at ward number 05 upper Barmeen block Ghordi Udhampur due to which house collapsed and o5 persons of a family were killed on spot while one person namely Raj Singh injured and is shifted to District Hospital Udhampur and all medical facilities are being provided to the injured by the Hospital.
The details of deceased are Sharda Devi W/o Raj Singh R/o Ward number 05 upper Barmeen age 35 years, Aarti Devi D/o Raj Singh R/o age 16 years, Anu Devi D/o Raj Singh age 14 years, Swani Devi D/o Raj Singh age 12 years, Pawan Singh S/o Raj Singh age 10 years and Raj Singh S/o Munshi Ram is injured and is under treatment at District Hospital Udhampur.
