J&K Bank holds awareness camps in Baramulla villages

Srinagar: Continuing with its public outreach programs, J&K Bank conducted a financial literacy and mega digital awareness camps at villages Mongam, Darwa, Frestwari and Wagoora of district Baramulla that were attended by hundreds of people from these villages that included growers, traders, senior citizens and local residents.
The bank’s businessunit Wagoora organised the camps in collaboration with NRLM and NABARD wherein FLCC Coordinator Ghulam Ahmad Shah, Director RSETI Baramulla Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, representatives of NRLM, NABARD participated besides officers from agriculture and Rural Development Department Wagoora.
The Head BU Wagoora welcomed all the participants and dwelt in detail upon the benefits of social security schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, PMJDY and Atal Pension Yojana and requested the participants to avail full benefits of these central government sponsored schemes. He also laid stress on the PM Kisan beneficiaries to avail KCC schemes under agriculture, dairy activities.
Director RSETI Baramulla highlighted the role of RSETI, which he said, was to provide the training to young unemployed youth and also guide them for linking with banks to take the advantages of the Govt sponsored schemes so that they can establish their own units and not only become self-employed but also provide employment to others. He urged the participants to take the full advantage of these schemes and also ensure the repayment of the loans in time, so that the other needy yet unemployed people can promptly be accommodated by the banks.
Coordinator FLCC deliberated upon the benefits of various financial schemes available with the banks and emphasized upon the importance of customer friendly digital payment channels available with banks for the online transactions. He gave a detailed overview of government sponsored schemes to the participants and urged them to avail the benefits of these schemes that have been tailored to meet their financial requirements.
Also speaking on the occasion, the NRLM representative educated the participants about functioning of NRLM and making of SHG (self-help groups) so that the rural women can take easy and hassle free financial assistance from the banks and can earn their livelihood by working at their homes.
